Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ CAD-based renders and videos leak

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ have been leaked today in renders based on CAD schematics. Each model gets a render video as well. These two models should launch soon, as the successors to the Galaxy A5 (2017), further cementing the Korean company's new naming scheme for mid-rangers which uses even numbers this year, as seen in the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018).

Perhaps bafflingly, the source of these leaks claims that the A6 and A6+ might be sold under the Galaxy J8 and J8+ monikers in certain markets. If that pans out, Samsung would only add to the growing branding confusion in the mobile world - for example, the likes of Huawei and its sub-brand Honor constantly offer the same product under many different names across the globe.

The Galaxy A6 will measure 149.9 x 71.5 x 7.8 mm. It's going to be powered by the Exynos 7870 SoC, which is made on a 14nm process and thus should be less power hungry than its predecessor.

Its CPU has eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz. The A6 might ship with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and a 5.6-inch touchscreen with 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

The A6+, on the other hand, will employ Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 chipset, along with 4GB of RAM and a 6-inch AMOLED panel. A dual camera setup can be seen on its back, contrasting the single snapper of the smaller A6. The bigger model measures 160.2 x 76.2 x 8.3 mm.

Both devices are expected to launch in the next few months running Android Oreo with Samsung Experience 9.0, and both of their screens' resolution is likely to be 2,220x1,080.
