Huawei is adding more phones to the EMUI 9.1 update queue as its late 2016 flagships are joining the beta program, along with a couple of Honor phones.
With this update, the Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro (the Porsche Design too) are getting a new file system, EROFS, plus GPU Turbo 3.0 – that’s two performance upgrades for phones that are nearly three years old.

The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus were initially supposed to start the beta program in August, but they got in half a month early.

Joining them are other 2017 models – the Huawei nova 2s as well as the Honor 9 and Honor 8 Pro. These two, as well as the Mate 9 family started on Android 7.0 Nougat and will soon get Android 9.1 Pie. How’s that for software support?

All eight phones should be able to join the EMUI 9.1 beta right now. The stable release is probably a few months away (the Mate 20 started beta testing in April and got the stable release in late June).
